BioAlberta is a member of the Biotech Accord, which includes other bioindustry development organizations, as well as the national bioindustry organization, BIOTECanada.

Medicon Valley Alliance

Founded in 1997, France Biotech is a professional association of entrepreneurs in Life Sciences and their partners (investors, law firms, consulting, audit, accountancy, recruitment, venture capital, business angels). Its members, located throughout France, belongs to all sectors of the Life Sciences Economy (Biotech, Diagnostics, MedTech, Bioenergy,services). Chaired by André Choulika, France Biotech has been acting for thirteen years with the government, economic decision makers and the media. France Biotech is also working with the CSI for the creation of a specific Status in France JEI 'Young Enterprise Innovante" created in 2004 in France.

BIO Deutschland
Berlin, GermanyAs the sector association of the biotechnology industry, BIO Deutschland has set itself the objective of supporting and promoting the development of an innovative economic sector based on modern biosciences. The Berlin-based association currently has over 285 members. It is run by a board of ten members consisting of CEOs and managing directors of biotechnology companies, as well as directors of BioRegions. This committee comprehensively represents the various fields in the sector.
Hungarian Biotech Association
Szeged, HungaryAs a pioneer among organizations within Central and Eastern European region, the Hungarian Biotechnology Association was established by Hungary's leading life sciences companies in 2003. The main objective of the organization is to create an alliance that unites the voices and interests of companies, researchers, academic institutions and related organizations to provide them with shared services, advocacy, and help in the field of life sciences. The organization also aims at improving and shaping the public understanding of biotechnology, promoting the safe and ethical use of biotechnological innovations, and educating the future generation of biotech managers.
Members include various life sciences companies engaged in e.g. target identification/validation, stem cell research, combinatorial chemistry, genomics, pharmacogenomics, proteomics, biocompatible materials and gene therapy, law and consultant firms, and non-profit organizations.
Niaba
Leidschendam, NetherlandsNiaba is the Netherlands' Biotech Industry Association. With more than 60 members it represents the majority of the Dutch biotechnological companies and related organisations in human and animal healthcare, food, feed, agriculture and environment. Among its members are not only large multinationals companies such as Unilever and Akzo Nobel, but also small biotechnological companies, major research institutes and associations in related sectors. Niaba is active in the fields of lobbying and advising governments, but also on issues such as research and development. Furthermore Niaba focuses on communication with the general public on biotechnology.
Portuguese Bioindustries Association (APBio)
Oeiras, PortugalAPBio was created in 1998 by two biotechnology companies: BIOTECNOL and STAB. This national association is part of the EUROPEAN BIOINDUTRIES ASSOCIATION, to which belong 14 national associations in a total of 600 associated companies. EuropaBio establishes the connection between the members, gathering and distributing information, organizing seminars and conferences about subjects of interest and supporting many other initiatives related to Biotechnology (publics' opinion inquiries, promotion and sensitization to these new techniques). EUROPABIO has the same objective as APBio and other national associations but it's actions operate at an European level, using the strength of their associates to influence the legislative power in order to create a favorable atmosphere for the development of Biotechnology.
European Federation of Biotechnology
Barcelona, SpainThe European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB) was established by European scientists in 1978. The objective of EFB is to promote safe and ethically acceptable biotechnology for the better use of Nature's resources. EFB also wishes to expand collaborations between academic and industrial researchers throughout Europe to increase competencies, strengthen education, promote innovation and increase the benefits of biotechnological research to society at large. Every second year, EFB holds a European Congress on Biotechnology, which typically attracts more than a thousand people.
ASEBIO
Madrid, SpainThe Spanish Bioindustry Association (ASEBIO) brings together companies, associations, foundations, universities, technology and research centers that undertake their activities either directly or indirectly related to biotechnology in Spain. ASEBIO has acted as a meeting and promotion platform for those organizations interested in the development of the national biotechnology field since 1999. ASEBIO therefore works in close collaboration with regional, national and European governments together with all those social organizations interested in the use of biotechnology for improving the quality of life, the environment and the generation of skilled employment.
Swiss Biotech Association (SBA)

SBA is the industry association of small and medium-sized enterprises active in all areas of biotechnology as well as a highly respected networking platform for the multinational companies active in the sector. The membership is open to companies of various size concerned with different aspects of modern biotechnology such as R&D, production, marketing and sales, finance, services and consulting. member-based national organization of its kind. It represents venture capital and private equity firms to
promote the industry within India. It seeks to create a more favorable environment for equity
investment and entrepreneurship. It is an influential forum representing the industry to governmental
bodies and public authorities.
IVCA members include leading venture capital and private equity firms, institutional investors, banks,
corporate advisers, accountants, lawyers and other service providers to the venture capital and private
equity industry. These firms provide capital for seed ventures, early stage companies, later-stage
expansion and growth finance for management buyouts/ buy-ins.
IVCA?s purpose is to support the examination and discussion of management and investment issues in
private equity and venture capital in India. It aims to support entrepreneurial activity and innovation as
well as the development and maintenance of a private equity and venture capital industry that provides
equity finance. It helps establish high standards of ethics, business conduct and professional
competence. IVCA also serves as a powerful platform for investment funds to interact with each other.
The Association stimulates the promotion, research and analysis of private equity and venture capital in
